Yesterday I read the controversial 7th std book in the Kairali TV website. It propagates the current political view of Left parties. ( I am not sure why they didn't publish as PDF so that people can download easily!!!)
Does Cast based politics or Religion based politics is what India needed? BJP, Muslim league are the groups advocating for the Religion based. While BSP, Left, DMK and many others banking on cast groups. Some of these cast group is very state specific as they use language also another criteria to divide. Congress in neither here or nor there. It is a trap that congress is currently in and they need to find a way to get out of it.
In additional Left in Kerala needs to win the Muslim votes. So they want to portray Muslims as backward and bring them to their side of politics from Muslim league umbrella. For this reservations and anti US stands are the left strategies...
The only thing CPIM in Kerala can proudly says is the land reforms bill and the text book proves better living conditions in Kerala like long life expectancy and high education level are just because of the land reforms. Is it true?. The land reforms never helped the real agriculture labours to own the land. In Central Travancore(Pathnamthitta, Aleppey, Kottayam, Ernakulam) the land owners are Syrian Christians(Higher cast Christians in catholics, Orthodox, Protestants) and Nair community. I am not sure how the land reforms changed the equations much. But that is only thing CPIM can say something proudly in their 60 plus year history in Kerala. Buy quoting a speech Gowri Amma they are trying to hide political message. It is as bad as any debates in Kirali TV by John Britas on pretext of using a neutral stand.
As I said before the books advocates a cast based political revolution or segregation. It portrays a cast based exploitation exist in Kerala across religions( not in Muslims). It says one should identify using his cast than the religious one. The text book is very effective in communicating it. I think party which is going affected by it most is BJP rather than Christians. I am not sure why they are silent on this issue.
Also it gives a feeling that India got freedom by just one or two violent fights here and there. It sidelines Gandhi and his non-cooperation movement which made the freedom movement as a mass movement. In between it also put very anti capitalist stand by mentioning Ambani as the richest man in the world.
It is very obvious that the books propagates the political ideology of the Left parties. Whether it is capitalism or socialism, history shows the state sponsored education system always teaches the ideas what the state wanted to here. But we can also see in history that always a few in the the next generation breaks all these boundaries and find new information and challenges this seeded information and they change the world. So some times is it good to be dropped out from school too.
